The Soul Talk

Ulysses

You are the blinding sun’s strongest ray
the calm balm of the cooling moon.
You think I’m complimenting yet contradictory
And you like that.
I think I’m a slow train in that fast track
crossing bridges to Forever.

You are flowing sublime,
yet you hold me tight warming my flesh
Your soul floats invisible ethereal
Yet your body rides hard
grinding pulsating basking in me
Connecting us with meshes of dotted love-
unsaid unuttered
swimming soulfully in
Wounded words
Wordless licks
scorching looks
Hungry eyes
Soft touches
Incoherent murmurs
Desperate kisses
And animal purrs.

You my love intoxicatingly intangible ,
Yet strong with sails that stand against universe’s harsh winds
My storms
Your tempests
Our tornadoes.
You are my softest surreal dream
And yet you are so wildly real.

These words so light I clumsily weave
Are made of strings stronger than steel
I sit here amazed exhausted consumed annihilated
Nurtured nursed
In peace and restless
In love and loved
Its YOUR beauty that will be
The fire of my pyre.

Talk about nothing at all

Lets talk about something else tonite.
We’ve spoken of love, and lust and life and death
Of soul and body and the ultimate betrayal.
We’ve also mentioned in passing karma destiny and their sister repentance.
Frivolously we’ve floated on flippant flights of fancy
Seriously we sermonized speeches on spiritual sensitivity.
But tonite lets not talk of love
Lets talk of something else.
Not of future and parents and siblings and money
Not of art and stories
Nothing serious nothing funny.
Last week we spoke of a place to visit,
Foods to eat and a book to finish.
Of the Gods we secretly worship and adore
Of the demons we silently fight with every pore.
Do talk to me about something else tonite
Something new and true and
thought provoking
maybe even heart wrenching
Or something simply frightening
Or something singularly enlightening
Of ailments and dreams and desires unlimited
Darling is there anything left to be initiated?

The lover’s plea

I dare you, declare me.
On the mast of your ship
Carve my name
Burn it into the fabric
Of your veins.
Stitch it with the
threads of desire
On your inner thigh
Crush yellow stones
Sprinkle your undying love
And engrave them as my eyes
On the doors of heaven
Sleep restlessly
Toss about in delirium
When my body warm and soft
Isn’t pressed against
The hard of yours
Lay open every book
From every nook
From the corners of your house
Ravage those pages
Spray them with paint
From the scarlet of my lips
And let it burn you,
When I’m not there
Let your curly strands
Achingly miss mine
When we lay enmeshed as one.
Let your hipbone feel hollow
Without me connected to it.
Let all the chakras that connect us together
Spin in silent morose ways
Waiting for the days
When I will be there with you.
Freeze forever
the magnetic touch
Of your finger tips against mine.
Tattoo our story
Above the arches
Of your beautiful eyebrows
Let me shine from your eyes
As you pour out from mine.
I dare you, declare me.

Fallen Goddess

The story of our love
Written on the walls here
Is red with dried blood.
From innocent curiosity
Through awakened passion
To crumbling wariness.

Should I categorize it
Assimilate and Theorize it
The act of brutal betrayal
Should I summarize it?

Each night as I sleep
Toss and turn
As I weep

They come haunting me
With their luminous eyes
With their Luscious breasts
Their soulful dark skinned legs

Gliding agonizingly over my bed
Trampling my sheets
Rolling on my pillow
Breathing on my face
With their fingers they trace
Mocking patterns on my skin.
Laughing at my skills
Sly and sure
First one
Then the other
And then another
They sing songs I sang
Whisper words I’d uttered
Kiss and cuddle
Moan and snuggle

There will be more I know
Ghosts you will carry
on your shoulders that I leaned on
Those same arms I belonged to
Will hold many many more.

So it’s time to say goodbye
Detach and disconnect
Spread your wings baby fly
may you find what you search for
As I did
on your shore.

The dream of eternity

Like scars on my back
Like marks in my neck
Like your fiery tongue on my skin
Like my soul ravaged by you

She stood under that night sky. The moon red and full. Like her heart. She had questions in her eyes and he had butterflies on his lips. It’s was dark and they were the only two souls.

She shut her eyes meeting his face for the most beautiful translucent cool hot silver kiss. In that one kiss he promised her the moody moon, the changeling sky and all the stars.

They stood forever in that one second.
She still stands there.
He’s gone.

Cascade

I await
The cascade.

Hungrily Demolished
Happily destroyed
Hopeful and desperate
Greedily sucking raindrops
Thirstily quenching my thirst
It rains and pours
Ending in a soft drizzle
The day is a blur
Of remembered downpour
And then it’s all quiet
I stand staring
at the silent skies
That begin to burn and scorch
And sometimes rumble

I await
The cascade
Once more

Madness Infinite

Insane desires tumbling in my head
Nothing comes close remotely
To What I feel so acutely
For him.
His eyes haunt me
His fingertips gnaw at my heart
His hair oh those mad curls
His lips and that laugh
The tilt of his nose
The teasing of his tongue
The desire flaring in his eyes
That speak a million sentences
In a minute
To me.

Calm as the lake at night
Solid as the mountains in the rains
Angry in minute
Peaceful in a second
He scolds me and
holds me as I shake
With silly laughter
And smiles enigmatic
His love emphatic

He handles my storms
My tempests
my monsoon showers
wipes my tears
Holds me tight
Whispering words of love
All through the dark night
When he speaks
His voice melodious
Weighing his words
Caressing his sentences
With passion and grace

Quirky and eccentric
Sagely yet young
He gives me all
He has in his heart
He is my muse
He is my dream
Im obsessed possessed addicted
Just like destiny predicted.
Drawn like the proverbial moth
I’m burning in ferocity.

Incomplete poem

What I would do
To wake up with you
Sleep with joy my love
I float with the stars above
And wonder what my life
Would’ve been
If i’d never met you
If your eyes I’d never seen.
We may not speak
Or meet for a week
Or two,
We may not gaze
At each other unknown
To the other
Created by this distance
May be Barriers invisible
Conveyed by the Silence
May be false indifference

“I have no use for divine patience -
My lips are now burning and everywhere.
I am running from every corner of this earth and sky
Wanting to kiss you.”
― Hafez, The Subject Tonight Is Love: 60 Wild and Sweet Poems of Hafez

Poetry of Hafez

“You see my state, and still increase my pain
I see your face, the need for union regain.
For my welfare, you have no care, I complain
Why do you heal me not from the sickness I disdain?
You bring me down and leave me on the earthly plane;
Return me to my home, by your side let me remain.
Only when I’m dust, your mercy can entertain;
Your flowing spirit stirs up dust of the slain.
Heartbroken of your love, from breathing I abstain
My life you destroy, yet my breathing you sustain.
In the dark night of the soul, I was growing insane,
Drinking from the cups that your features contain.
Suddenly in my arms, you appeared, clear, plain;
With my lips on your lips, my life and soul gain and drain.
Be joyful with Hafiz, with love enemies detain,
With such potent love, impotent foes self-restrain.

― Hafez
